I'm using DisplayFusion Pro 7.2 on a Windows 10 Pro x64 system, and have found that the auto-detection mechanism for creating a custom function (dragging the target icon to a window) is off by what seems to be a fixed amount. To correct for this you must increase the X position by 8, decrease the window width by 16, and decrease the window height by 8.

Has anyone else experienced this? So far W10 has been a pain in the butt when it comes to window positioning.

Yes.. see below, this also impacts full-screen (both windowed and otherwise). It does seem that DF 7.2's window/desktop size/positioning under Windows 10 is currently broken. No word from BFS on this as yet though.

This problem is due to the invisible window borders in Windows 10. It's currently on our list, so we'll be sure to let you know when we're able to get it all fixed up :)

Thanks!

Goodies, will be updating to latest beta once it pops up, as usual. :D

This is still not fixed as of 7.3 Beta 2. Reproducing is simple. Create a custom function and drag the target icon over a window to capture its dimensions. Save the function and then use it on the same window. The window will move and change dimensions slightly.

One difference that I've noticed in the beta build is that it's no longer possible to change the X position/width/height by a fixed amount to work around this problem. The above mentioned +8/-16-/-8 no longer reliably corrects the values detected by DisplayFusion. ::)

You can work around this by installing WinAero Tweaker and enabling the "Aero Lite" theme.

This reverts you back to Win8-style borders, and gives you coloured titlebars back too. Also fixes the window size/positioning issues with quite a few apps (e.g. Thunderbird) but it does create a slightly messed up titlebar in Firefox that needs a userchrome hack to fix.

This is still open on our list, we will be sure to post an update as soon as we've gotten it sorted out.

@Lum: Thanks for sharing that workaround :)

We've just released a new DisplayFusion beta version (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/) and this issue should be all fixed up. Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!
