I just updated DisplayFusion to 4.1 version. The first "problem" that I noticed is that Windows Messenger Chat Windows stay in the taskbar in the main screen, even if I move them to the second screen they stay in that taskbar.

The attached picture shows how it looks like. The contact list windows can be moved from one screen to the other, it's just the chat window that stays in one taskbar.

I don't have Windows Live Messenger pinned to the taskbar either.

I've been experimenting with other windows/programs, and it seems that the chat window of Windows Live Messenger is the only one facing this problem; it will stay on main monitor's taskbar, even if I move it to the second monitor. The contact list window is working perfectly (It moves from one taskbar to the other when I move it from one monitor to the other).

Everything was working fine before the update =(

How can I go back to the previous version?

I just re-installed DisplayFusion 4.0.1, and everything's working perfectly =) I'm willing to wait for the next update, but I really want a confirmation from the Staff that this problem will be fixed.

I'm using Windows Live Messenger 2009 (I don't like the newest version, nobody does lol) It can be downloaded from here:

What about you, Kevin? What version do you use?

Ok, just a quick update: I've tested with WLM 14.0.8117.416 on Windows XP and 7, with DisplayFusion 4.1, and the taskbar buttons seem to be working correctly.

Could you guys attach a copy of the info from the Troubleshooting tab (copy it to a text file and attach it), when the WLM windows are on the second screen, but the buttons are on the primary screen?

Thanks!

Thanks Kevin! The troubleshooting info shows that the button was deleted from the Windows taskbar, and added to the DisplayFusion taskbar. Just to double-check, when you copied the info, the WLM window was on the second screen, but the button was on the Windows taskbar?

Ok, would you be able to do a video capture of it so that I can see it in action? I haven't been able to reproduce it here unfortunately :(

CamStudio is free and can do screen recordings: http://camstudio.org/

Thanks!

Hope this works for you, didn't seem to work well with MPC but works with VLC. As you can see(hopefully) i move the chat window to the second monitor but the taskbar button stays on monitor one.

Ok, thanks! For me, I test it the same way as you do in your video, and everything works. Do you have any customizations on Windows Live Messenger? Maybe a tweaking app that removes the ads, or something that modifies the skin or UI at all?

I do have a skin+apatch for removing ads. Went back to 4.0.1 and it works perfectly now

I use Messenger Plus! (http://www.msgplus.net/).

It's an add-on with lots of features. But everything works fine in the previous version. (4.0.1)

Thanks Keving for helping with your video =) It's exactly what happens to me, but I have Windows 7. So I guess it's not an OS problem.

Still couldn't reproduce it using Messenger Plus :(

Kevin, could you provide a link to download the skin and the patch that you use?

Thanks!

Just wanted to say i reinstalled msn+skin+apatch+msgplus and installed the new displayfusion beta. All is working as it should :)
No idea what helped, if it were the reinstalling or new beta but i'm glad everything works fine now.
Edit: Messenger plus were the problem, if you enable tab chats in it the problem appears.

But, can you use tab chats and use it perfectly in the beta version?

Now, admins, try using tab chats =P

Thanks for the extra info guys! The tabbed chats option being enabled was the secret to reproducing the issue. We'll see what we can do to get this fixed up :)

Is this problem fixed in the newest version? Which was released yesterday?

I'm skipping all versions until I know I get the update that I need.
