Hi, I'm basing this on the topic that was created around two years ago.

https://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/windows-10-occasional-mouse-stutters-in-game/?ID=80c21c25-6924-45bf-bf7d-a88773873d4b

I'm having almost the exact same issue, except the occurrence is a lot more rare. That's why it took me around 10 hours to figure out what was wrong after ruling out multiple other sources that could potentially cause frametime inconsistencies. I really had to make sure it really was DisplayFusion.

Problem description:

Within 5-10 minutes after launching DisplayFusion, I start to get framerate spikes in a game called osu!.
The game itself reports these stutters starting with a "SwapBuffer spike"
After the initial 5-10 minutes, it comes back every 2-10 minutes at a random interval.
Closing DisplayFusion immediately fixes the issue, although as mentioned before, starting it does not immediately cause the issue, as the effect happens with delay.

I've attached a DisplayFusion troubleshoot log as in the previous post. Since this issue was fixed a few years ago and I still get an issue with DisplayFusion, this could also be an issue with my specific system, so I'm not having too much hope. But I thought why not see if anyone here has an idea.

Thank you!

Additional information about my system:
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 1700
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070
  • RAM: 16 GB Crucial Ballistix 2400Mhz
  • Storage: SanDisk SSD Plus 256GB & WD Blue 4TB
I do not have any thermal issues.

We'll re-open the old ticket and investigate again to see if we missed anything. Do you run OSU windowed, or full screen?

Thanks for the quick reply and for looking into this again!

I'm running the game in exclusive full screen mode letterboxed at 1920x1080 on a 2560x1440 144hz panel.

Second screen is a regular 1080p panel.

We've just released a new DisplayFusion beta version. Could you give it a try and let me know how it works out?

Thanks!

Hi, thanks for looking into this and releasing an update!

Unfortunately, my Windows 10 desktop is currently not working as I had to RMA my processor for unrelated reasons.

I'll get back to testing it next week and will report back then.

Hi Keith,

The issue has been resolved with 9.0.0 Beta 4.
DisplayFusion does not cause stuttering in the game anymore when running.

Thank you!
