I am a Windows Insider on the Fast Ring for updates. The most recent Windows Insider builds (14XXX series) are causing a problem for me with DF.

Thanks for the heads up! Does this happen randomly? Or does something specific seem to trigger it?

As far as I can tell, activating DirectX seems to be the causative factor. It happens when I load a game and after the game has initialized graphics. After that occurs, it is a random occurrence as to when it'll happen. However, if I stay at the desktop and don't load a game, it doesn't seem to happen.

Ok, thanks! Can you try re-installing DF and send a debug log when this happens again? Here are the steps:
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Sure. Would I just upload it here or is there somewhere else you want it sent?

Hello,

I'm currently on the Windows Insider Preview Fast ring. Since build 14277, I've been having BSOD when dragging windows between monitor. I just received Build 14279 and the issue is still present. I decided to close Display Fusion to see and no more BSOD.

I'm on build 8.0 Beta 4. Had no problem on 1511. Right now, I'm on the process to find what cause the BSOD, is it the multi-monitor taskbar, an option in the screen handler (I think it's the screen snaping or the mouse alignement).

Thank you!

I've been able to reproduce this here as well. We'll do some more testing to figure out what feature seems to trigger this, and we'll go from there :)

Thanks!

This does indeed seem to be triggered by the Window Snapping feature. We've added this to our list and we'll be sure to post an update when we're able to get it fixed up :)

Thanks!

@Ghislain: Thanks for the follow-up! So even with Window Snapping enabled in 8.0 Beta 5, it doesn't BSOD any more?

Ah ok, interesting! I saw there was a new Insider build of Windows 10 again last week. Did that make any difference at all?

Hi Developers,

My Windows 10 version is Insider Preview build 14291 and use DisplayFusion 8.0 beta 5.
When I dragging a window between monitors, Windows will BSOD sometimes.
I tried to enable or disable Windows built-in snap function same as BSOD.

DisplayFusion's Window Snapping is a important function, I waiting for you to fix this issue. : )

I have the same issue and have found that it is when I move windows from one screen to another. It has happened with command prompts, browsers with no animation, browser with animation/video, video player, etc. I could avoid it by using the move to next screen function, but only until I forgot and then that BSOD.....

Could you try disabling Window Snapping (Settings > Window Snapping) to see if that resolves this issue?

Yes, disabled both, to edges of monitor and other applications. I am not connected to multiple monitors right now -- but will post back. I miss my taskbar on all monitors....

That seems to have been the issue -- not a problem since disabling. Windows 10 build 14332

I've just re-tested this in 14332 with DisplayFusion 8.0 Beta 6, and I can't seem to reproduce it any more. Can you guys confirm whether you can still reproduce it with Windows 10 14332 and DisplayFusion 8.0 Beta 6?

Thanks!
