So I upgraded to windows 10 today, Display Fusion immediately broke and now appears to be refreshing wallpaper in the background however all I see is a black screen. If I manually change the background to an image, it will reset to a black screen when display fusion goes to the next image. Any idea's?

Uninstall DisplayFusion, run CCleaner if you have it, if not download it and run it - both the file cleaner then the registry cleaner. Reinstall DisplayFusion and see how you go from there.

It was the alternate wallpaper generation folder setting that was causing the issue. For some reason it will fail loading wallpapers if the directory is not the default directory after some random amount of time. Changing it back to the default worked and it worked when I changed it back to my other directory for a few hours but eventually failed.

So it fails after a few hours every time still?

Yeah if its being forced to use a different wallpaper generation folder than the default. It's creating the wallpaper1.png files in the folder, however the screen just stays black. If I hit "next random image wallpaper" shortcut keys, I get the popup that says its looking for a random image. I can then see a new wallpaper2.png in the folder but nothing on the screen. The minute I change the wallpaper generation folder back to default it works fine. The odd thing is, is that if I then go back and immediately change it back to the target folder I want to use, it will work for several minutes/hours until it fails and I have to repeat the process again.

Wow, that's really strange! When it stops working, if you open the WallpaperX.png file that gets generated, does it look correct, or is it blank?

It's correct.

Ok, so it's an issue with Windows failing to set it, or refresh it, or something like that. The next time this happens, could you try the steps listed in "Method 3" on this page to see if that makes any difference?
