In the latest beta (v8 b5) one of the bug fixes listed is: "Fix: Start Menu in Windows 10 opens on the correct monitor on non-English machines"
It still dosnt work as it should do. If I click on the Start Flag on my secondary screen the Start Menu will open on the primary for half a second then switch to the secondary screen.
This behavior is happening on a Swedish system, can you look at the reasons why please?

Regards
Alan

Could you attach a copy of your DisplayFusion troubleshooting info? That behaviour is expected in some situations, just want to check if your setup is one of those expected situations :)

Thanks Alan! At first glance, it looks like it should work fine on your system. I will setup a Windows 10 Swedish test system here and see what I can find out :)

Sorry for the delay! I finally had a chance to get a Win 10 Swedish VM going. I couldn't reproduce your issue though. In mine, it works correctly, where the Start menu just opens directly on the second monitor. Could you send me a debug log so I compare the two and try to figure out what might be happening?
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L2: Log Detailed"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

No need for appologies, I realise that you are busy.

Thanks Alan! Is your Start button on the right or left side of the taskbar?

Ok, thanks Alan! We're going to add some additional logging information for the next beta that will help us determine the reason it's using the old "move" method instead of the "direct" method. I'll be sure to let you know when it's available so that you can grab a new log.

Thanks!

We've just released 8.0 Beta 6. Could you give it a try and let me know if you still run into this issue?

Thanks!

No it still opens on the main screen briefly then on the secondary screen. The only difference now is that I have to double click to open or close it.

The time of the test was 08:28.

Thanks Keith

Any developments on this problem?
I have hidden the Start button from my second screen as ´when it flashes from one screen to Another I find it distracting.

Not yet, sorry. We're still trying to reproduce it in a test environment here. We'll keep you posted when we have made some progress :)
