Hi,

I have 2 issues actually :

1 - The taskbar stay above every window, if i maximize a window, it ignore the taskbar and expand behind it to the edge of the screen

2 - The taskbar icon of the windows that are actually opened are not centered

You can see the 2 issues on the attachment.

Thank you :)

Could you send me a copy of your troubleshooting info? Here are the steps:
  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button
  • Reply with the file attached

Thanks!

Hi, here are the logs

Thanks! For #1, does that happen right after a fresh restart or only after the system has been running for a while?

For #2, this is expected actually. When the "Middle" position is enabled for the running taskbar buttons, it sets them to the middle of the space available (e.g. the empty space on the taskbar), not the middle of the taskbar itself.

Thanks for your reply.

1 - It happens directly at launch.

2 - Ok i understand, this is different from the windows taskbar behavior but ok

Ok, thanks! Could you send me a debug log for that first issue?

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Restart DisplayFusion, wait a couple of minutes
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Thanks! It looks like some other app is causing the workarea to continually reset itself to the full size of the monitor (which is causing it to not reserve space for the taskbar).

Do you have any other window management apps installed, like iShadow VDM, PowerToys, etc?

Should i try to close it and restart ?
EDIT : Just did it, no difference.

Do you think it could be caused by Gsync/adaptative sync ?

I don't think Gsync would affect it, no. Can you try closing any other apps on the system, including ones running in the tray?

Could you also run these two commands in a PowerShell console and send me the text files that they create on the desktop? (processes.txt and services.txt)

Get-Service | Out-File $($Env:USERPROFILE + "\Desktop\services.txt")

Get-Process | Out-File $($Env:USERPROFILE + "\Desktop\processes.txt")

So i quit all applications one by one, and tested to close and re-open a window that is going behind taskbar. So far the issue continue.
The problem is coming from the DF taskbar, not anything else imo
Also not every windows are concerned by the issue, this is weird.

If i switch Off the DF taskbar then switch it On again, the problem disappear.

Thanks for sending those over! I'm really stumped on this as none of us here can reproduce it. We've had a couple of other customers report the same thing though, so we'll get the same info from them and compare, maybe we'll find something in common that will point us in the right direction.

Yeah it's really weird. The issue doesn't happen all the time.

I noticed another issue, DF prevent me from using F5 key to refresh a webpage in firefox.

If you disable the "Enable key combinations" option on the DisplayFusion Settings > Functions tab, does that fix the F5 issue?

Hi, Yes it does solve the issue, BUT, i'm using functions with key combination shortcut to switch audio output device so i kind of need it to be activated
???

EDIT : Nevermind, i had F5 used for moving windows in DF function settings !
Deleted it and it's all good !

I have some good news! I was finally able to reproduce the taskbar issue here (windows behind taskbars), and we should have it all fixed up for the next beta.

Hello,

This issue should be fixed up in the latest beta, available here: https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta. With this beta, DisplayFusion should prompt you to restart explorer when the issue happens. Please let me know if you still run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!
