I have the taskbar extended onto a second monitor, and sometimes the Windows 8.1 start logo starts flashing on and off. It's not constant and I don't know what causes it to start, I restarted display fusion a few minutes ago and it's started flashing again. It does seem to stop if I right click it. I use Classic Shell for an old-style start menu, which could clash.

There's some strange behaviour related to it (while flashing):
- sometimes clicking causes the primary monitor start menu to show instead
- sometimes clicking shows the start menu but the button disappears
- sometimes clicking does nothing at all
- sometimes clicking causes the modern start "screen" to open instead of the start menu

The only things I have open are Sticky Notes, Skype and Firefox.

Could you enable debug logging and attach a copy of the log the next time this occurs?
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Looks like the DebugInfo.html got attached twice. Could you reproduce it again and send a new copy of DisplayFusion.log?

Thanks!

I'm going to try again with this post.

It's the same time as before, I kept copies of the files.

Thanks! Do you have Firefox maximized on the monitor when this is happening?

Quite often but not all of the time (the rest of the time it is usually minimised).

Thanks! I can reproduce this, and it is related to Firefox. I've put it on our list, and I'll be sure to let you know when we're able to get it fixed up :)

In the meantime, if you don't use the Search box (next to the address bar) in Firefox, removing that from the toolbar should prevent this from happening.

Hello,

This issue should be fixed up in the latest beta, available here: https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta. Please let me know if you still run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!
