I'm using Beta 7 and I'm having opposite problem. I don't have "Bypass the Windows 8 Start Screen" but when I'm on the start screen and DF start, the main monitor get moved to desktop (and other monitor are kept on the start screen). Disabling DF stop this issue. I don't have "Bypass the Windows 8 start screen" activated nor do I have "When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to the desktop instead of Start" activated.

I've confirmed this here as well, and added it to our list to fix up.

Thanks!

Unfortunately we haven't found a way to fix it up yet, but it's still open on our list.

Thanks!

We've just released a new DisplayFusion beta version and this issue should be all fixed up. Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!

Have just tried the new beta version (6.0.0 beta 7) and the problem still exists.

When display fusion loads, the start screen closes and the desktop is shown.

I'm on 6.0 Beta 7 with Windows 8.1 Update 1, and it no longer kicks to the desktop on startup. If you disable DisplayFusion from starting up, does it still kick to the desktop?

I am also on windows 8.1 Update 1.

Display Fusion 6.00 Beta 7.

If I disable Display Fusion from auto starting it does not kick to desktop.

It kicks to desktop when Display Fusion is set to auto start with windows.

Ok, can you check the Settings > Window Management tab to make sure that "Bypass the Windows 8 Start Screen" didn't get enabled for some reason when 6.0 Beta 7 installed?

If it's not enabled, could you attach a backup of your DisplayFusion Settings so that I can restore them on a test machine here? You can back them up using the "Export Settings" button on the Options tab.

Thanks!

I can not find a setting under Settings>Window Management tab for "Bypass the Windows 8 Start Screen".

I assume you mean the setting under Settings>Windows 8 tab for "Bypass the Windows 8 Start Screen" which I have always had set to disabled (Not ticked).

I have attached a copy of the settings file you asked for with this post.

Thanks for looking into this.

Thanks! Sorry for the confusion there, I mentioned the wrong Settings tab in error.

I've tested with Windows 8.1 Update 1, DisplayFusion 6.0 Beta 7, and your backup file, and it still doesn't kick to the desktop. Do you have any other applications opening on startup? I'm wondering if it's kicking to the desktop when DisplayFusion adds TitleBar Buttons to a window.

I do have a few other applications which start with windows.

Aida64 Extreme
Razer Synapse 2
Sticky Password Manager
Splashtop Streamer

I do not think it would be title bar buttons causing the problem because I do not use any title bar buttons and have the button options turned off in Display Fusion.

I have a three monitor setup and only the main display that shows the start screen kicks to desktop on load, the other two monitors stay on the start screen showing the expected plain background colour.

The main display uses a dedicated NVidia GPU and the other two displays use an integrated Intel GPU.

Ok, if you disable the Application Hooks in the DisplayFusion Settings > Advanced Settings and reboot, does it still kick to the desktop?
