Hi,

when the taskbar is set to a left or right position, clicking on the start menu works as expected.

However, invoking the search window results in said window being cut off with only a small cutout being displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Displayfusion's taskbar is set on my second monitor.

I've made a video demonstrating the issue here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tskJE3ousMg&feature=youtu.be

I updated to 9.5 beta 2 to make sure I'm on the latest version, issue also present in 9.4.3.

I'm on Win10 1809 Build 17763.437.

Strange! We don't really have control over the search box, normally it just opens on the Primary monitor when you start typing. Could you send me a copy of your troubleshooting info? Here are the steps:

  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button
  • Reply with the file attached

Thanks! I can't reproduce this with the same setup as yours, super weird!

Could you send me a full debug log? Here are the steps:

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Hi Keith,

something weird happened.
KB4494441 got pushed to my Win10 machine today.
I've had this problem as it appeared on the video for quite a while now and strangely its behavior changed after today's update.
I don't know if there is correlation, but it "half-works" now.

The start menu isn't completely cut off anymore and moved to the bottom, but is only getting cut at the left side.

I've attached an image to reflect on what has changed.

The start search menu still doesn't move to the primary monitor however, which does function as exüected when the displayfusion taskbar is set to the bottom position.

In case it's still helpful, I've also attached the debug log I created with the current behavior. Should be at 23:52:50.

Interesting! I wonder why it stays when the taskbar is on the right, but not the bottom. I can reproduce this here as well.

Not sure if we can do anything about it, but I will put this on our list to investigate further. If we can make the search box work correctly on the DF taskbars, we will be sure to post an update.

Thanks!

The issue is no longer present in Windows 10 1903 (18362.175).

The search window now snaps toward its original position with only a small offset (that doesn't prevent me from using it properly) for all taskbar orientations.

DisplayFusion version is 9.5

Thanks for looking into the issue though, I always appreciate how communicative you guys are towards your users.
