I am using DisplayFusion 9.7.1 and here is the call log file. If anyone wants to have a look.

Hello,

Thanks for sending that over. If you adjust the snap distance to 20 pixels, does that make any difference?

Thanks!

No changing the Windows Snapping Distance does not help. And my problem in the first place, the windows snapping functionality does not even get triggered, it does not even get activated when I hold down the Modifier key which in my case I have configured to the CTRL key. So when I hold down that key nothing happens, nothing moves, or nothing gets highlighted. Nothing. So me holding down the CTRL key does not even activate the DisplayFusion Software and Windows Snapping Functionality !

Hello,

Interesting, the log is showing the snap working fine so I'm not too sure what's up here. If you change the snapping mode to "Always Snap Windows" does the issue persist?

Thanks!

Yes It worked the first time I installed it but after that It has not been working. The Log I sent you was from when I used DisplayFusion the first time. Now it does not work. Like I said it does not even get triggered/activated. Where is the question of using it ?

Hello,

Can you send me over an updated log? I'll attach the steps below.

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Hello,

The log is showing the snap is working fine for Word. I also tested in on my system and snapping seems to be working okay.

Could you send over a video of the snapping not working?

Thanks!

What you are seeing is perhaps because I also have the Dell Display Manager Application from Dell Computers installed which is Dell Monitor proprietory software for using different windows snapping options. could the log be showing that thing from Dell Display Manager Software ?

Hello,

Snapping from other applications wouldn't show up in the Display Fusion log, but that is an interesting observation. That software might be interfering with the snapping Display Fusion is trying to do. Are you able to disable the snapping for that software, or turn it off temporarily and see if the snapping works with Display Fusion?

Thanks!

Hey I made a Screen Recording when I was attempting to use DisplayFusion Windows Snapping, and I am not sure if it is because of Display Fusion or what is working here ? But from the Video can you make out if this is DisplayFusion Windows Snapping working here ? PLease check the attached Video.

Hello,

It looks like that's the Windows Aero Snapping taking place, which we don't support. I've attached a video example of what our snapping does.

Hope that clears things up!

Hello,

Actually scratch my last message. I took another look at the video and it does look like snapping is working. Around the 1:25 mark, the window snaps to the top of your monitor when dragging it up. Does the same thing happen when moving windows to other edges of your monitors, or edges of other applications?

Thanks!
