Hey guys,
I'm aware that this bug is a known issue and that there is a workaround. I've enabled the "SetWindowPos: Disallow TopMost Calls" option in Settings > Advanced Settings (currently shows "TopMost will never be allowed").
Initially I saw an improvement but now I am still occasionally seeing windows that won't come to front when clicked. Is this workaround known to not be 100% reliable?
One of the offending programs I'm seeing this with is mRemoteNG. When it's open, I click on a different window in the DisplayFusion taskbar and it comes up behind mRemoteNG. As far as I'm aware, mRemote doesn't even use TopMost (I looked through the options and couldn't find any reference to keeping the program on top).
It's staying on top of Chrome, Opera, Outlook, though not Skype for Business (I have a trigger on for S4B though, which moves it to the left side of the monitor that mRemoteNG is open on. S4B sometimes does this to other programs too).
Interestingly, if I switch to one of those other programs and maximise them (or restore down and then maximise again) the issue sometimes goes away, but not all the time. Usually I have to either minimise mRemote (or any other program that does this) or over over the taskbar entry for Chrome/Outlook etc, and click the pop up preview. This takes a few goes but eventually it'll maximise above the offending program.
I know it's a known issue, no stress if there's nothing you can do about it, just letting you know that the workaround isn't currently working for me.
DisplayFusion Pro 9.4 Beta 3.
Primary monitor 1080p 100% scaling
Secondary monitor 1, 1080p 100% scaling.
Secondary monitor 2, 2160 x 1440 150% scaling.
Issue happens on all monitors. Happens whether or not mRemote is fullscreen or not.
Cheers.

Seen it happen now with Chrome Outlook and Opera all not letting each other come to the front, so it's not just mRemote.
I'll try disabling the TopMost option and re-enabling it.

Disabled the TopMost disablement setting and did not re-enable it and didn't actually have the issue for a day or so. It's started to come back again today. Therefore I'm experiencing the issue whether or not this setting is on.
When this issue occurs, if you just restart DisplayFusion, does that resolve it for a while before it comes back?

Hey Keith,
Yes it does. I first noticed the issue today after about 4 hours of my PC being on, and after DisplayFusion restart I'm not seeing it.
Is it something to do with multi monitor taskbars perhaps? If you'd like I can switch to Windows taskbars for a day or two and see if I experience it then.
Sure, that would be a great test!

The update on this is that I turned off DisplayFusion taskbars and didn't see the issue for two days. I switched back to DisplayFusion taskbars, but this time I had changed the primary monitor to the one that I was primarily seeing the issue on. As it's using the Windows taskbar on the primary monitor, I haven't seen the issue since. It may still occur on one of the other monitors but as I am switching between programs less on those, I haven't run into it yet.
Summary:
Primary Monitor: 1080p 100% scaling
Secondary monitor: 1440p Surface Pro 3 150% Scaling (heavy use)
Secondary Taskbar: DisplayFusion Taskbar
Bug: Yes
Primary Monitor: 1080p 100% scaling
Secondary monitor: 1440p Surface Pro 3 150% Scaling (heavy use)
Secondary Taskbar: Windows Taskbar
Bug: No
Primary Monitor: 1440p Surface Pro 3 150% Scaling (heavy use)
Secondary monitor: 1080p 100% scaling
Secondary Taskbar: DisplayFusion Taskbar
Bug: Not yet
I've therefore found a set-up that works OK for me, but be aware that there do seem to still be issues with DisplayFusion taskbars in some scenarios. Hope the above info helps. Thanks.
Ok, thanks for the update! Just one more question so I can add this info to my notes: Which position are your taskbars in? (Bottom, Top, Left, Right?)
